Fundamental Problems in Quantum Physics 2024, Trieste (Italy), September 10th – 12th, 2024
Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you and the young students in your groups to participate to the School “Fundamental Problems in Quantum Physics 2024” in Trieste (Italy) from September 10th to 12th, 2024.
The school, dedicated to Prof. GianCarlo Ghirardi, will introduce Master’s and PhD students to the still outstanding problems in our understanding of quantum foundations. To give a deep look into the foundations of quantum mechanics, lectures will be given by experts in the field. An extensive time will be dedicated to selected contributed talks.
Talk and Lectures will focus on the following topics:
Theory: collapse models, Bohmian mechanics, quantum field theory, open quantum systems, quantum control;
Experiments: optomechanics with levitated systems, testing of collapse models.
List of lecturers:
Angelo Bassi (University of Trieste)
Fabio Benatti (University of Trieste)
Hendrik Ulbricht (University of Southampton)
Nino Zanghì (University of Genova)
List of speakers (yet to be completed):
Davide Giordano Ario Altamura (University of Trieste)
Oliviero Angeli (University of Trieste)
Michael Drewsen (Aarhus University)
