“Fundamental Problems in Quantum Physics 2025” school in Trieste (Italy) from June 17th to 19th, 2025

Dear all,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the “Fundamental Problems in Quantum Physics 2025” school in Trieste (Italy) from June 17th to 19th, 2025.

Quantum Mechanics is extremely successful in predicting experimental results and has a vast range of applications. Nonetheless, many unanswered questions remain. The school will introduce Master and PhD students to the still outstanding problems in our understanding of quantum foundations. Topics will cover: foundations of quantum mechanics, quantum and gravity interplay, collapse models, experiments with cold atoms, quantum thermodynamics, open quantum systems, criticality, optomechanics etc.

To give a deep look into the foundations of quantum mechanics, lectures will be given by experts in the field. An extensive time will be dedicated to selected contributed talks.

List of lecturers (yet to be completed):
Alberto Imparato (University of Trieste)
Francesco Scazza (University of Trieste)
Roderich Tumulka (University of Tubingen)

List of speakers (yet to be completed):
Matteo Fadel (ETH Zürich)
Mauro Paternostro (Queen’s University Belfast)
Riccardo Puebla (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid)
Hendrik Ulbricht (University of Southampton)
Andrea Vinante (CNR Trento)

All information about the workshop and the registration can be found at the workshop website.

Registration is open until the 16th of May 2025. There is still the option to contribute with a talk.

Please, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.

All the best,
